I typically follow the prompts but since its my last post I thought I would just talk about how this class changed my perspective. I used to ALWAYS say that I wasn't creative, I'm not stellar at drawing, I can't sing, I can't rap, and cant play an instrument  (unless you count the recording but I'm pretty sure we were all forced to play that). Basically I fixated on those flaws of mine and deemed them 'creative talents' but what I have learned and what I hope we all took away from the semester is that creativity looks different for everybody. I took the time to reflect on the things that I CAN do and when I considered myself a creative person I became very good at those things, also letting go of the fear of failure opened the doors to some other talents I didn't know I had. Basically I now think I can do anything (except sing I really don't think its in the books for me hahah) what I like most is the fact that I have learned skills that will last m...

What Happens In Vegas

The first time I went to Las Vegas I was like 7 and I went with my parents and sister. We stayed a block off the strip because my sister and I were so young and my mom wanted the hotel to be a bit more family friendly. It was just a small little quick vacation but o. my. God. Vegas to an 7 year old is comparable to Disney world, since I didn't really understand my surrounding all the gambling, drinking and so fourth aren't memories I have. What I do remember about Vegas was the feeling of it being magical, each hotel was like being transported into a different world, the lights, the shows, the food, the people, it was all just such an experience. My favorite place (because I'm such a freakin greek mythology nerd) was Caesars Palace, talk about details I mean the walls, the statues, the chandeliers, the food, the water show, all perfect and for I second I pictured myself in Greece living my dream of being a Greek Goddess in this beautiful palace. I wanted to live there for ...

A Shift

This semester has changed me in a multitude of ways, everything about this year has been unfamiliar and honestly really scary. I go through this whorl wind of emotions some days I think I am doing great and totally rocking it and other days I find myself constantly beating myself up that I bit off more than I can chew. I am grateful for classes like this one to allow me to reflect inward on myself I think the feeling of  'not being good enough' is similar to ' I'm not a creative' it all stems from fear of failure.  This fall break I spent most of my time exploring my own backyard, we went to Estes park and hiked some spots in the rocky mountains, I had time to myself being outside listening to the sounds of the trees and the snow hitting the ground it definitely gave me some clarity in all this madness even though things are hectic I know I can keep it pushing.
